New SZA is coming!
Earlier this week, the 28-year-old singer gave fans a preview of an unreleased track, seemingly off her upcoming album, on Instagram. While SZA didn't reveal the track's name, she captioned the video that played the song while she walked in a backyard: "I don't need rent ni**a." The song itself features SZA's smooth and enchanting voice while also delivering her incredibly relatable storytelling.
SZA's preview of the track comes weeks after she revealed that new music is coming "soon as f**k!" The "All the Stars" singer revealed the news during an interview with Kerwin Frost. Over the course of the hour-long discussion, SZA spoke about hitting the studio with Justin Timberlake and possibly working on a collab with the hitmaker for her upcoming album.
"Before I was like, ‘What the f**k am I doing in the studio with Justin Timberlake right now? This is crazy,'” she admitted. "But when I heard his music and we started singing together… It’s like, ‘Oh, we speak the same language. The same frequency.’ Our ears speak the same language. I understood where he was going before he could finish a run."
As for other possible guest appearance on the follow-up to her 2017 debut album Ctrl, SZA said she's hit the studio with Post Malone, BROCKHAMPTON, and Jack Antonoff, to name a few, so really anything is possible.
